Sweden to Legalize Gay Marriage in Two Weeks
According to gay newspaper QX, the Swedish Parliament will legalize same-sex marriage on 16 April after four liberal MPs have decided to vote with the opposition. All but one of the four parties that make up the liberal-conservative government are in favour, too. However, since the Christian Democrats refuses to acknowledge gay people civil rights, most MPs loyal to the government are expected to vote against the marriage reform. If QX's sources are correct, the four liberal MPs will rebel against their own government.
Meanwhile, Christian Democratic MP Lennart Sacrédeus says—once again—that allowing gays to get married is comparable to allowing child molestation.
Background and my take on it here.
Update: I just realized it's April Fool's Day. Some things are probably too good to be true. The part about Lennart Sacrédeus is true though.
