Charlie Weimers
The youth organization of the Swedish Christian Democrats (KDU) elected Charlie Weimers as their new chairman yesterday. It is probably a good thing for them since the party’s base consists of conservative Christians who consider hating minority groups a virtue. Mr Weimers is perhaps best known for his extremely hostile homophobia. For one thing, he likes to compare gay people to animals by suggesting same-sex marriages are equal to sexual relationships with cats and dogs. With Weimers in charge, we can expect more insults of the kind in the future. After all, the inability to acknowledge the obvious differences between gays and animals could logically result in demands for incarceration. I bet Charlie Weimers would love that.
Update: In a comment to this entry, Charlie Weimers denies the accusation and says he never compared same-sex marriages to human-animal relationships. I acted on information I received from a source who wish to remain anonymous. I apologize to Mr Weimers for making my harsh comment.
När har Weimers jämfört samkönade relationer med relationer mellan djur? Ge gärna en länk.
Vet inte om han gjort det i skrift, men i debatter har han gjort den jämförelsen. Han är dock inte unik i detta. Flera kristdemokrater har en förkärlek till argument av den typen.
I vilka debatter har han gjort det? Du påstår väl inget nu som du inte har en källa för?
Jag vet att Charlie varit ute i den debatten men jag har aldrig sett några argument av den typen. Utan snarare argument kring fördelarna med kärnfamilj.
Detta är inte en akademisk uppsats, så några mer verifierbara källor än vittnesmål har jag inte. Jag tror inte att mina uppgiftslämnare ljuger med tanke på hur det brukar låta när kristdemokraterna diskuterar homosexuellas rättigheter.
Det är väl just den saken. Charlie är inte som andra kristdemokrater och jag tycker det är rätt lågt att tillskriva någon åsikter som bygger på hörsägen.
Tycker du inte om Charlie eller hans åsikter, attacker då honom. Men gör det då utifrån vad han faktiskt sagt, inte vad du hört att han sagt.

Jag önskar att du och andra var lika måna om sanningen när Weimers ljuger om homosexuellas möjligheter att vara bra föräldrar i stabila förhållanden.

Until now, I had no reason to question the information. The source is normally very trustworthy. But if you deny ever saying anything like this, I take you word for it.
Mr. Weimers may not have said this, but his party colleague Lennart Sacrédeus, MEP, certainly has.
