It’s a sad fact that many American libertarians support discriminatory legislation, so I’m glad to learn that the Libertarian Party’s presidential candidate Bob Barr is in favour of California’s right to make it’s own decision on same-sex marriage. I wish he’d gone further and recognized that the state has no right to determine whether or not someone should be able to marry. It ought to be up to the individual, not the state.
